Rach Thompson has been practicing yoga passionately for many years and in 2016 she completed her Yoga Alliance Certified 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India.
This lead Rach on a further journey in India where she volunteered with "New Light" a Not for Profit established to shelter children and youths rescued from the tough red light district in Kolkata . Rach instructed Yoga to around 250 students for 3 months and knew she had found her calling, a world away from her previous career as a Lawyer.
Rach is now dedicated to pass on the benefits of her Yoga training and experiences travelling the world. She wants to share the message that Yoga is so much more than postures, it is a lifestyle that can be adopted by anyone willing to deepen the connection between their body and mind to increase overall health, wellbeing and positive mind-set to experience the beautiful things life has to offer.
Rach is currently living in Geelong, Australia where she has started her own yoga brand “Rachna Yoga” and is spreading the positive energy of yoga to a wide variety of groups. She works with patients undergoing rehabilitation and recovery from injury, local community centres and also teaches yoga on Stand Up Paddleboards!
Rach believes yoga should be accessible to everyone and from her experiences first hand in India she is inspired to teach yoga especially to children and youths, the earlier the better as it is so beneficial for the development of their mind, body and soul, especially if they are from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Happiness is not something ready made, it comes from your own actions....
